Fitness and health
Version 1, [date of review]. For NestFit, and the training parts of NestCore.
NestFit helps you plan training, log what you lift and eat, and see whether you are getting stronger. It gives general fitness information. It is not a doctor, and it does not diagnose or treat anything.
What the numbers are
- Weights and reps for next time come from a rule: hold the weight and add reps until every set reaches the top of the range, then add the smallest jump. The rule only knows what you logged. It does not know how you slept, whether something hurts, or how your form looked.
- Calorie and protein targets are estimates worked out from the age, height, weight, sex and goal you enter. Bodies differ, so treat them as a starting point and adjust.
- Strength levels and progress lines compare your logged lifts with general standards. They are a rough guide, not a judgement of your health.
- The AI coach writes its answers with an AI model. It can be wrong, and it is not a personal trainer, a dietitian or a doctor.
None of these may suit everyone. If a suggestion does not feel right for you, do not follow it.
Train within your limits
- Pick exercises, weights and a pace that suit your experience and your body. Learn the movement with a light weight first.
- If you tell NestFit about an injury, it leaves some exercises out. That helps, but it is not a rehabilitation plan.
- Stop straight away if you feel chest pain or pressure, faintness or dizziness, unusual shortness of breath, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or sharp or growing pain. Get medical help if it does not pass quickly, and call your local emergency number if it feels serious.
Talk to a professional first if
- you have a heart, lung, blood pressure, joint or other health condition, or an injury,
- you are pregnant or have recently given birth,
- you take medicine that affects your heart rate, blood pressure or balance,
- you have, or have had, an eating disorder, or a calorie target makes you anxious.
NestFit does not replace advice from a doctor, physiotherapist, dietitian or other qualified health professional. If what they tell you differs from the app, follow them.
Under 18
Personal accounts are for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, train with the help of a parent, coach or PE teacher, and talk to a doctor before you try to lose weight.
